🪔 About

Oindrila Roy Mallick is a well-known Bharatanatyam dancer among the younger generation in India. She began her training at the age of five under the late Guru K. P.P Thampi. She further honed her skills under the tutelage of the legendary Guru Khagendra Nath Barman, a senior disciple of Guru Rukmini Devi Arundale, who founded the unique Kalakshetra style of Bharatanatyam. Since 2011, Oindrila has been guided by Guru Abhoy Pal, learning the Kalamandalam style, which enriches her dance with a cumulative learning experience. She holds a Master's Degree in Bharatanatyam from Rabindra Bharati University, graduating with distinction. Oindrila Roy Mallick is an active performer and teacher, both in India and internationally. She has been touring successfully in European countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, and Holland since 2011, where her performances have garnered appreciation, including a standing ovation in Munich. Her major performances in Europe include appearances at The Tagore Centre in Berlin, DIZG Munich, Peace Palace Hannover, and MERU Seelisberg. In India, she has performed at events like the Cultivation of Science Jadavpur (2018), a music festival organized by Dhwani, and the Chhandayan Music and Dance festival in Kolkata. Her group's performance at "Basant Utsav" was also highly acclaimed. Recently, in May 2024, she performed Bharatanatyam at a Buddha Purnima celebration in Flushing, New York. As an educator, Oindrila teaches classical and folk dance at her institution, "SHABDAM Dance and Music Academy," where students are enrolled and regularly perform. She also teaches in an elementary school. Awards & Honours: Chairman's Award, The Best Bharatanatyam Dancer (2021).
