Prema Nagasundaram is a renowned Bharatanatyam danseuse and a veteran classical dance teacher based in Mumbai, India. Born in Kolkata to Late Shri. S. Rangan and Smt. Sarada Rangan, she pursued her passion for classical dance despite not coming from an artistic lineage, receiving constant support from her family, including her brother Dr. Shankar Rangan. After her marriage to Shri. R. Nagasundaram, she moved to Mumbai, where she completed her L.L.B. Although initially inclined to practice law, she was strongly encouraged by her aunt, Late Smt. Rajalakshmi K, to dedicate herself to teaching Bharatanatyam. Nagasundaram is celebrated for her unique choreography and has skillfully portrayed various epic characters such as Ganga and Budha, as well as the Navarasas, through her dance ballets. She has taught countless students and is fully dedicated to the art form, with her life's mission centered around dance. She resides in Chembur, Mumbai, and continues to be an active figure in the classical dance community.
