Radhika Shankar is a distinguished Bharatanatyam artiste, educator, and the Founder and Director of the PadmaRatna Dance Company, based in Fremont, California. She received rigorous training in various aspects of Natya under the tutelage of the world-renowned Padmashree Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam at the Nrithyodaya Dance Academy in Chennai, India. Shankar has garnered critical acclaim for her graceful Bharata Nrityam style, expressive abhinaya (facial expressions), and captivating stage presence. Her career includes numerous major performances in India, guided by her guru, as well as several solo and group concerts across the United States. She was honored with the "Bharata Nritya Seva Mani" title in 2003 by Nrithyodaya, a premier dance institution in Chennai, recognizing her significant contributions to classical Indian dance. Beyond her artistic endeavors, Radhika Shankar also holds a prominent professional role as a Vice President of engineering at Synopsys, where she leads a global engineering team. She actively engages in philanthropy through her art, utilizing dance for fundraising events, such as for tsunami relief and post-COVID initiatives.
