Rasabihari Dasi is a Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher, originally from the Czech Republic, who has developed a profound connection with Indian culture and philosophy. She began her spiritual journey at the age of 15, becoming captivated by the spiritual knowledge in the Vedas. Although initially trained in Western dance styles and gymnastics, she sought to express her aesthetic feelings through classical Indian dance. She commenced her study of Bharatanatyam in 1998, and in 1999, she moved to India to undertake formal training in New Delhi under the tutelage of renowned Bharatanatyam Guru Jamuna Krishnan. Since then, Rasabihari dedicates three to four months annually to India to refine her dance technique and deepen her understanding of related subjects. She perceives Bharatanatyam in its traditional context, viewing it as an offering to God and a path to self-realization. Since 1999, Rasabihari Dasi has performed over 100 times in various countries, including the Czech Republic, India, Hungary, Germany, Ireland, and Denmark. She has also performed with the Kalangan troupe in ballet dramas in India during 2003 and 2004. In Prague, she is a regular performer at events hosted by the Indian Embassy in the Czech Republic. In recognition of her dedication, she received a scholarship from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in 2005 for a dance project focusing on the poetry of Andaal and Mirabhai. Rasabihari Dasi also teaches Bharatanatyam classes in Prague, catering to both beginners and advanced students, children and adults. Awards & Honours: Scholarship (2005).
