Sarsha Lavania Pillay is a Kathak dancer who completed her "Rangmanch Pravesh" (debut recital) on August 28, 2016. She is a disciple of Smt. Smeetha Singh-Maharaj and trained at the Nateshwar Dance Academy in Durban, South Africa. Her debut performance, titled “Rangmanch Pravesh,” took place at the Durban Playhouse Opera Theatre. At the time of her debut, Pillay was a 3rd-year Information Technology student at the Durban University of Technology (DUT). She, along with other senior students, had performed extensively with the academy over the years for various religious and corporate organizations and attended numerous dance workshops conducted by senior Kathak dancers from India. The Nateshwar Dance Academy maintains a high standard of dance tuition, bringing Shri Vaibhav Joshi from Mumbai for additional intensive training and student examinations.
