Sonali Joglekar is an accomplished Kathak artist, teacher, choreographer, and the founder of Lay-Tal Dance & Arts in Calgary, Canada. Born and raised in Pune, India, she holds a Degree in Kathak Dance (Kathak Visharad). Joglekar established Lay-Tal Dance & Arts in 2012, bringing the elegance, rhythm, and grace of Kathak to Calgary. Her academy offers structured Kathak courses based on a curriculum from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth University in Pune, providing training up to Diploma and Degree examinations. Lay-Tal Dance & Arts serves as a recognized examination center in Calgary, allowing students to pursue formal qualifications in Kathak. Joglekar teaches the authentic Jaipur Gharana Kathak tradition to students of all ages, from beginners to advanced learners, at multiple locations in Calgary, including the Sanatan Hindu Cultural Society, Mount Royal University, and a studio in South-West Calgary. She is recognized as a mentor and guru within her community. As a performer, Sonali Joglekar has graced various social and community events in Calgary. Notable performances include an opening act for Durgesh Gangani's concert in May 2025 and a rendition of "Hey Gajavadana" at the Annual Gathering of the Marathi Shala by the Calgary Marathi Association in June 2026. She also choreographs performances for her students and cultural events.
