Dr. Soniya Sharma is a distinguished Kathak dancer, performer, and guru, recognized for her extensive contributions to Indian classical dance. She holds a Ph.D. in Kathak from Rajasthan University and a Nipun Kathak degree. Dr. Sharma is a multidisciplinary artist with over 20 years of experience in teaching and performing Kathak. She is a Gandha Bandh Shishya of the eminent Kathak Guru Pt. Girdhari Maharaj and belongs to the Jaipur Gharana. Her academic background also includes a Master's in Kathak from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow, and the Rajasthan School of Arts, Jaipur, along with an M.A. in Public Administration. Dr. Soniya Sharma is the founder and director of Nrityashala, an online academy that has successfully trained over 4500 students worldwide. She has developed popular curricula and easy learning techniques for Kathak, supported by a team of over 10 qualified faculty members.
