N. Srikanth, also known as Srikanth Natarajan, is a distinguished Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, and guru from India. His journey in classical dance began at the age of eight, leading to his arangetram at fourteen. He received initial and specialized training under illustrious gurus including Sri. Shanmugasundaram Pillai, Dr. Saraswati, and Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. Srikanth also hails from a family deeply rooted in the Bhagavata Mela dance-drama tradition of Melattur, Tamil Nadu, where he specialized in performing female roles such as Sita and Devaki. Renowned for his solo performances and choreographic expertise, Srikanth has garnered critical and popular acclaim for his unique style, which effectively balances both Lasya and Tandava aspects of dance. He is a regular performer in the sabhas of Chennai and has performed extensively across India and internationally in countries including the USA, Canada, Singapore, France, Egypt, Thailand, Indonesia, UAE, Reunion Islands, Mauritius, and East Africa. He is recognized as a graded artist of Doordarshan and an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). N. Srikanth is deeply committed to preserving and propagating the art of Bharatanatyam. He co-leads the Nrityalaya School for Classical Dances in Kozhikode, Kerala, an institution originally founded by Kalamandalam Saraswathy, where he provides master classes and trains aspiring dancers. He also conducts numerous workshops and summer residency programs in the USA, cultivating a strong student base there. His wife, Aswathy Srikanth, is also an accomplished dancer and his disciple in Bharatanatyam. Throughout his career, Srikanth has received several accolades, including the Yuva Kala Bharathi Title in 1997, the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Manram Award in 1998, and the Sangeet Natak Akademi's Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar in 2010 for his contributions to Bhagavata Mela. He was also honored with the Satrajiti Puraskaram in 2025 for his continued dedication to Bhagavata Mela.
