Subhash Viman Gorania is a cutting-edge British choreographer and dancer known for his seamless blend of Indian classical, urban, and contemporary dance forms. He trained in Bharatanatyam under Chitraleka Bolar in the UK and Chaaya Kanavate in India, and in Kathak from Nilima Devi MBE in the UK and Asha Joglaker in India. He is also an alumnus of the Centre for Indian Classical Dance (CICD), where he completed his Level 4 ISTD in Kathak. Gorania's work is characterized by its unorthodox and quirky edge, incorporating characteristic physicality, floor work, swift spins, humorous gesture, and expression. He began his dance journey at the age of 23, initially exploring hip-hop and Bollywood before moving into classical dance. As a prolific international performer and choreographer, his credits include the award-winning production 'The Troth – Usne Kaha Tha' and the Bessie award-winning choreography 'Ecstasy'. He is the artistic director of his own company, Morph Dance Company, and has held a Dance Artist in Residence position at the Peepul Centre in Leicester. Gorania has also contributed to dance education, teaching talented young students at CICD between 2008 and 2010.
