Vallarie Apte is an accomplished Kathak dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in Pune, India. She is a senior disciple of the esteemed Guru Pandita Maneesha Sathe and has been training under her guidance since 1999. Apte is a prominent faculty member at Maneesha Nrityalaya, the institution founded by her guru, where she has been teaching Kathak for approximately 13 years, starting around 2008. Academically, Vallarie Apte holds a Nritya Alankar from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. She further distinguished herself by securing the first rank in her M.A. (Kathak) from Lalit Kala Kendra, Pune University. Throughout her career, Apte has performed extensively both in India and internationally, often accompanying and assisting Guru Maneesha Sathe in various performances and workshops. She is recognized as an upcoming talent in the Kathak world, known for her performances and choreographic work. Her artistic contributions include presenting unique compositions such as "Tridhaara" in April 2021, which featured a blend of Tarana, Kavya, and Sargam, showcasing three distinct ragas. In January 2020, she performed a Kathak duet with Moushami Jaju at Shuddhanaad's ChoteKhani Maifal. Vallarie Apte has received several accolades for her dedication and artistry, including the prestigious Paluskar Award and the Pandita Rohini Bhate Swarna Padak. Her teaching legacy is evident through her students, such as Krpa, who trained under her guidance for nearly 12 years, achieving Visharad status, and later founded Krishnapriya Rasrang Performing Arts (KRPA) in the United States.
