🪔 About

Vineeth Radhakrishnan, born on August 23, 1969, in Thalassery, Kannur district, Kerala, India, is a distinguished Indian actor, Bharatanatyam dancer, voice artist, and choreographer. His journey in classical dance began at a tender age, starting Bharatanatyam training at four or five under Guru Chemancherry Kunjuraman Nair in Koyilandy. He continued his foundational training with Guru Kalamandalam Saraswathy in Kozhikode, a disciple of the renowned Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. Vineeth's early talent was evident as he won the first prize at the Kerala School Kalolsavam for four consecutive years, earning him the inaugural "Kalaprathibha" title in 1986. After moving to Chennai for his graduation in 1988, he expanded his dance repertoire by learning Kuchipudi for three years under Master Vempati Chinna Satyam. However, his primary passion remained Bharatanatyam, leading him to become a dedicated disciple of Padmabhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam in 1992. He continues to receive advanced training in Bharatanrityam, a Natya Sastra-based technique revived by Dr. Subrahmanyam, even attending her online classes. Despite a successful career in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada films, Vineeth consistently prioritizes dance, performing in numerous recitals and festivals worldwide, including the prestigious Surya Dance Festival. He has also composed and choreographed several dance productions. In 2012, he further solidified his academic credentials by completing a Master of Fine Arts (M.FA) in Bharatanatyam from SASTRA University, Thanjavur, achieving the first rank. In 2019, Vineeth established his own dance institution, Nrityagruham, in Kochi, Kerala. As the founder and director, he imparts the systematic and scientific pedagogy of Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, aiming to promote classical arts education and encourage more boys to pursue Bharatanatyam. Having completed five decades in dance by 2023, Vineeth Radhakrishnan is recognized for his significant contributions to Indian classical dance. Awards & Honours: Kalaprathibha Gold Medal (1986), Yuva Kala Bharathi (2006), Kalaimamani (2007).
