Vrushali Kulkarni is a distinguished Kathak exponent who commenced her artistic journey at the age of 10. She received her foundational training in the Lucknow school of Kathak under the tutelage of Mrs. Sanjeevani Kulkarni at Kalanand Kathak Nritya Sanstha in Nashik. Furthering her expertise, she pursued post-graduation training in both the Jaipur and Lucknow schools of Kathak, guided by Mrs. Roshan Datye at Rochit Kathak Dance Academy in Pune. Kulkarni holds a Nrityavisharad, a 7-year diploma in Kathak awarded by Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay, Mumbai. She also earned a Master's Degree with a specialization in Kathak from Pune University, Pune, alongside an M.Com. degree. Her dance style is a harmonious fusion, reflecting the delicate nuances of the Lucknow Gharana and the vibrant energy characteristic of the Jaipur Gharana, showcasing her profound mastery in both Taal (rhythmic technicality) and Abhinaya (expressive interpretation). Throughout her career, Vrushali Kulkarni has undertaken various pivotal roles within the realm of classical dance. She served as the artistic director of Kalanand, Sambhaji Chawk branch, Nashik, from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, she was a dance teacher at Kishor Suryavanshi International School, Nashik, from 2006 to 2008, and an assistant teacher at Rochit Kathak Academy, Pune, from 2010 to 2013. Her professional engagements extend to performing, choreographing, examining, organizing events, teaching, and working as an applied theatre artist.
