Journey Timeline
1966
Began college and exposure to Eastern philosophies — Started college in Washington, D.C., during a period of cultural shifts, leading to an interest in Eastern practices like yoga and meditation.
Late 1970s
Began formal Indian dance training — Enrolled in a dance class with the former director of the National Dance Company of Pakistan after a 'visionary experience'.
1983-1988
Extensive research in North India and discipleship under Sitara Devi — Became the first American disciple of legendary Kathak dancer Sitara Devi, supported by a Professional Development Grant and a Fulbright Senior Research Fellowship.
Late 1980s
Video production and choreography work — Worked at National Video Industries, creating 'Lotus Mind', and wrote/directed a series on 'The Art of Choreography' for Jamia Millia University.
2000
Co-founded Sacred Mysteries — Established Sacred Mysteries with her husband Jay Weidner, a film distribution and production company.
2003
Received COVR Award — Awarded the Coalition of Visionary Resources (COVR) Award for her book 'The Path of the Priestess'.
2005
Performed 'Myths and Visions of Shiva and Shakti' — Presented a one-woman show in Boulder, Colorado, combining music, chant, and dance.
