Born — December 15, 1951, in Thrissur, Kerala, India.
1958
Began Mridangam training — Initiated at age seven by Sri Kongorppilly Parameswaran Namboodiri.
1961
Debut on concert platform — Began performing at age 10.
1964
Won First Prize in Percussion — At the State School Arts Festival.
1966
Performed with Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar and K. J. Yesudas — At Peringode at age 15.
1968
Won First Prize in All India Radio Music competition — At age 17.
1973
Became a disciple of Palghat R. Raghu — Moved to Chennai in the same year.
1978
Performed with guru Palghat R. Raghu — At the Jass Yatra Festival in Bombay.
1984
Taught and performed for the Center for World Music — Continued until 1985.
1992
Joined All India Radio as staff — Served until 2011.
1999
Received NADAKKANAL and Maharajapuram Santhanam Foundation Meritorious award
2000
Received VANI KALA SUDHAKARA — From Thyagabrahma Gana Sabha.
