Daksha Kantaria is a prominent Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and choreographer, known for her contributions to Indian classical dance in both India and the United States. She commenced her Bharatanatyam training at the age of eight under Guru Sri. Nattu. Her education continued under the tutelage of the late Guru Sri. Madhu Patel and the late Guru Sri. Kubernath Tanjorekar, who was a renowned Bharatanatyam exponent from Gujarat. Furthering her expertise, she received training in Nattuvangam from Guru Smt. Kausalya Srinivasan. Daksha Kantaria holds a Visharad / B.A. in Music in Bharatanatyam from Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya. Her early accomplishments were recognized at the age of 14 when she was awarded and honored by the Gujarat State Government for her achievements in the dance form. Since 1985, Daksha Kantaria has been actively teaching Bharatanatyam in both India and the United States. She is the founder of Swara Dance Academy, an institution dedicated to imparting the art form. Throughout her career, she has choreographed and organized numerous stage performances encompassing both classical and folk dances across India and the USA. Beyond her dance career, she also holds advanced degrees in Accounting, Computer Science, and Technology Management, and has held senior positions in the IT sector. She is an active member of the Indian-American community in Connecticut and volunteers for various non-profit organizations. Awards & Honours: Awarded and honored by Gujarat State Government for accomplishments in dance.
