Sharmada Vishwanath, is a dedicated Bharatanatyam artiste known for her artistry, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the classical tradition. Over the years, she has earned recognition through several prestigious accolades, including the Guru Swamimalai Rajarathnam Endowment Prize from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha (2016), the Yuva Kala Bharathi award (2023), and the Yuva Kanaka Prathibha award (2024), among numerous other honours that reflect her artistic excellence. Sharmada has performed extensively across India and internationally, both as a solo artiste and as a member of the Chidambaram Dance Company, the professional performing repertory of the Chidambaram Academy of Performing Arts. Her performances are marked by technical precision, expressive depth, and a profound respect for the Bharatanatyam tradition. Most recently, Sharmada has been conferred the prestigious "B" Grade by Doordarshan, a testament to her growing stature and contribution to the field of Indian classical dance.
