Shweta Prachande

Shweta Prachande is an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer recognized as one of the foremost artists in the new generation. Her early training began at the age of five under Dr. Sucheta Chapekar, providing her with a strong foundation in the dance form. She later received expert guidance and mentorship from the world-renowned dancer and choreographer Priyadarsini Govind in Chennai, where she has trained for over 15 years. Prachande further expanded her artistic vocabulary through Abhinaya classes under Guru Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan and has also trained in nattuvangam, music, Tamil texts related to dance, Yoga, and the martial art form of Kalaripayattu. Her academic pursuits include a Diploma in Dance Studies from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, UK, and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Bharatanatyam from Bharathidasan University in Tiruchirapalli. Shweta Prachande is a regular performer in Chennai's annual Music and Dance season, including multiple appearances at the prestigious Madras Music Academy Dance Festival. She has performed extensively across India and internationally, conducting workshops and lecture demonstrations for organizations like Spicmacay. Her international performances include the Summer Mela Festival in Rome, Italy (2018), and the Soorya India Festival across the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Doha, and Bahrain (2019).
