Stuti Mukherjee is an Ottawa-based Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and educator, specializing in Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. Her rigorous training in Bharatanatyam began at the age of five. She earned her Diploma in Bharatanatyam in 2005 from Kalamandalam Performing Arts and Research Centre in Kolkata, under the tutelage of Guru Thankumuni Kutty and Govindam Kutty. Mukherjee completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram in 2019, guided by Shri Guhendran Sarvanapava. She continued her advanced Bharatanatyam studies with Shri Kalakshetra Amarnath Ghosh, a Doordarshan-graded artist from Chennai. Beyond Bharatanatyam, Mukherjee is also trained in Kuchipudi, an art form originating from Andhra Pradesh, India, currently under the guidance of Shri Kasi Aysola from the US. She has also received training in Nattuvangam, the rhythmic recitation accompanying Bharatanatyam dancers, from Guru Shri RLV Hemanth Lakshman. In 2020, Stuti Mukherjee founded the Kalagriha School of Performing Arts in Kanata, Ottawa, where she serves as its Artistic Director. The school offers Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi classes to students of various levels. Her performance career includes appearances at the Ottawa Art Gallery, TEDx uOttawa, Parliament Hill events, the Festival of India, and the TD South Asian festival. She was a juror for the Ontario Arts Council's Dance Projects grant program in 2020 and received a Dance Fellowship in 2021 from Indian Raga dance productions. In 2022, her work was selected for Citadel + Compagnie's Night Shift in association with Fall for Dance North, and she received the City of Ottawa's Equity and Inclusion in the Arts Fund – SEED award. Since September 2022, she has been a MASC Artist, conducting workshops and lecture-demonstrations across the Ottawa-Gatineau area.
