Growing up in Vijayaranga, Bengaluru, with parents Dr. Ranganath Bharadwaj, an economist, actor, dramaturge, playwright, and musicologist, and Mrs. Jaya Bharadwaj, she was exposed to a rich artistic environment from an early age. This upbringing, coupled with access to various fine and performing arts at 'The Structural School of Fine Arts', shaped her artistic journey. Furthering her academic pursuits in dance, she earned a Master's degree in Bharatanatyam from Tamil University. Her dance repertoire extends beyond Bharatanatyam, as she has also explored Odissi, Kathak, Salsa, and Freestyle. Additionally, she received a decade of training in Carnatic Classical vocal music. Currently, Akshara Bharadwaj serves as the Bharatanatyam faculty and a theatre instructor at The Structural School of Fine Arts.
